There is a small communithy at Oxbow and Halfway but then you have to travel on a forest service road NF39 to Joseph so you would be a bit isolated. The Devil's Tail is a gentle road with easy sweepers. But don't make a mistake as the cliff is right there with no guard rails.<br /><br />We were on our way to Joseph where we were booked for two nights. After you get in the groove it was like shifting your weight back and forth to navigate those twisties.
