Day 7: On the Road

We arrived in Harrisburg, PA last Monday and today we are moving to a new location.  Tonight we will be in New Stanton, PA

Running out of time, so this is just a short update

Yesterday found ourselves heading west to the Gettysburg, National Military Park

This is also the site where they fought the Battle of Gettysburg.   The battlefield was 25 square miles so we took the 2 hour bus tour with narrating guide

It was so sad to see one country in so much turmoil over the freeing of slaves

What luck to find the traveling gnome who had just come back from overseas

to come here to visit with President Abraham Lincoln

  1. Glad you are managing a few touristy sights with your busy schedule. At least you are still having fun.

  2. Hopefully you'll get some time to explore Gettysburg. Some interesting displays and places there.

    It's looking kinda damp...

we were a bit time challenged, and the weather was a bit wet so we took the bus tour. It is kind of sad that this had to happen

  3. Bob, I loved Gettysburg, so full of history (and Harleys when I was there.) Enjoy your stop in New Stanton and the rest of your journey.

If we had more time we would have explored a bit more. We were traveling with the NJ caravan and had to adhere to their schedules

  4. Battlefields and military cemeteries leave me pensive and sad.

One day I want to visit our war dead in France and Belgium.

I agree, it was so sad to see people from the same country killing each other
