Merry Christmas to all of you

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and best wishes during this festive season.  May all your dreams come true.    Enjoy your time away from work, your time with family and friends and think of warmer days

You may not have realized but this is my third year of posting my musical Seasons Greetings.  You can find the one for 2012    click here1   and the one from 2011  click here2

A few years ago I used to use music for my slideshows but was tagged with copyright infringment.  I got notices from Sony/Columbia records and EMI so ever since that time I have been careful not to use identifiable music so what better way than to just sing yourself.    I also had a problem with instrumentals where you would sing along, like in Karaoke.   I was at a party with a Karaoke machine and people were singing to the music.  I posted the video and the video got tagged and the music was removed by Youtube.  Now I generally record street music when on vacation and just use the soundtrack.  For my own projects I just sing to myself

I didn't mean to leave anyone out but I quickly selected some random photos from my cross Continent trip from Pacific to Atlantic to Pacific this Summer 2013 and presented them in random order.  I get great satisfaction to see where I've been and think of all the people who welcomed me.   There are also those who I had planned to meet but wasn't able due to some unforseen circumstances.   There are those who are truly adventurers and able to be by themselves for weeks or months at a time.  I am not one of those.   While I can endure a week or so alone on the road, after that I long for company and companionship and I look forward to meeting up with others whist on the road.  I met many for an hour or so, and with some I stayed for a couple of days.  It's all good

This was Take 1 and recorded without practising

I don't wish to issue a Challenge but it would be nice if a few of you could work on something similar.  It's not the voice, nor how well you can sing.   It's the thought . . .

Merry Christmas to you all.   Till we meet again . . .

  1. Sad world when one cannot just burst out in song without causing a lawsuit!

Anyway, to keep it simple, Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. Skoot and may all your dreams come true as well!

In this world, it's all about money. That's why I thought I could just make my own music.

Merry Christmas to you too, hope it stops raining long enough for you to finally ride your new scooter

  2. Since my singing would more likely accelerate global warming than cause copyright infringement I'll just stick with the tried and true: Merry Christmas Bob, to you and yours, and all the best for 2014. Perhaps we'll meet up again somewhere next year; who knows?

You have a great voice. You should show it off. Our paths will cross again during 2015 if all goes well, in the meantime . . .

have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

  3. Bob, I'm genuinely impressed with your musical message, both with its content and with the acapella version of an old holiday standard. Your infringement issues are most likely due to your worldly fame and the millions of hits you get here. I won't miss the proprietary tunes; was just fine without.

    Merry Christmas to you!

You're too kind. It was my first take, with no rehearsal . . . All you have to do is sing as you would in the shower and turn on your tape recorder (OOPs, I meant digital recorder) I stick to songs with limited octave ranges

you have a Merry Christmas too, hope to see you during 2015

I liked your slide show. It just needs your vocal talent. I was at Wall Drugs a month before you. I may edit my slide show to include more photos, in the meantime

Merry Christmas to you and Nancy. I keep thinking about her delicious pies . . .

  6. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I thought about putting together a slideshow and just use the singing from your video but thought that I may get sued by this Bobskoot character.

Thank you. As you notice I need more practice. Also a good time to practice is to just sing out loud whilst riding as no one can hear you anyway

Merry Christmas to you and Jackie too

  8. Bob, you're far too modest about your talents. YOU CAN SING!!! Who knew? Very nice photo album.

Here's a very big wish for all your wishes to be granted! I owe you more than you can possibly know.

as they say, It's all Smoke & Mirrors ! I am glad to call you a friend. Keep my room "warm". I may need it during 2015, that is, if you are still there.

Walking around in all those tunnels that night. I still don't know where I went ?

Hugs to Susan, and Merry Christmas to you. I finally know who the boss is

  9. Bob, Just google "royalty free music" and you'll find there is lots of it out there. None of it will be familiar or super-fantastic but it works well enough for casual videos for friends like us.

Merry Christmas, Bob. I hope Santa lost his naughty/nice list so you get something cool.

Thank you but I have royalty free music and I know you can also make "loops". I just thought it more personal to make my own noise

Merry Christmas, have a great 2014

Its great to meet others with similar interests as you experienced with the Shadow Riders. They become more than just names on a Forum. I can't help myself, I like to meet people too

  14. Bob,

I fear any musical attempt at a holiday greeting would go viral because of how bad I sing. I'll have to think of some sort of alternative. Maybe I can play my bamboo flute and recite Vespa poetry.

Merry Christmas to you. Be safe!

    1. Steve;

You're too modest. Just choose a song suitable for your vocal range and let us be the judge of whether it is good or bad. I would like to hear the Bamboo flute, someday . . .

Merry Christmas to you and your family too

Thank you. Whenever I rehearse, I get frustrated so I just do One-take. Less stress that way. Wishing you the best for 2014 too. Winter is a good time to either plan ahead, or think of past journeys

Hope you had a great Christmas with your grand daughter & Family

  16. Bob -- you were perfectly in tune. So agrees my wife, a music teacher whose compliments don't come easily.

I finished briefing an appeal, and I'm back in the world. Look forward to getting up to B.C. and reading your posts in the meantime.

Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. Skoot!

  17. Bob, you did a fabulous job on the soundtrack! That good on take 1? Wow. I might try this one day. Sorry it took so long for me to comment. I'm struggling to keep up with all my on-line reading as I seem to have developed this aversion to sitting in front of my computer. And I usually have company and/or too much noise when using the phone viewer. And I wanted to give this project the quiet attention it deserved. Good job!
