Telephone Pole & Jet

We happened to be down in Richmond, late afternoon today. I had my trusty Sony NEX-5n with me as usual and I took a photo of this particular telephone pole (the one with the 3 transformers)

The Rainbow kept getting in my way . I turned around to capture a photo of a jet taking off from YVR: Vancouver International Airport.

It is that small speck just left of centre. You may have to squint a bit . . .

  1. Very nice power pole though you could've centered it in the shot a bit more. And the shot of the jet would've came out a lot better if the annoying sun wasn't there.

    Better luck next time ;-)

    Beautiful shots...

exactly, the sun was in the way and I should have centred the telephone pole

  2. Pretty skies make for great pictures. And Bobskoot takes great pictures. A perfect match.

I used to like math. I had several slide rules and my trusty Log book (logorithmic) by my side. I still have an abacus somewhere hidden away

    2. I still have my abacus next to my desk in my office! Still get to use it occasionally...

  4. I'm loving that sunset pic! Nice, catching the jet there.
...being mathematically challenged, I can use neither an abacus nor a slide rule. I'm fair to middlin' with a calculator ;)

It was a lazy day for us, did nothing, went out late even though it was sunny all day. Whilst heading home along River Road I noticed the impending sunset, so we pulled over to grab a couple of quick shots. Camera was set for DRO, with slight -(minus) EC compensation

  5. Rule of thirds! Don't listen to Richard, don't center objects. :)

      don't you think you're being a little bossy, for a Gurl ?

    2. Clearly Mrs. Skoot isn't doing her job. And I'm being bossy when Richard downright insults your images?!? Hehe

thank you, but I only noticed that sunset was upon us so we turned into the parking lot to snap a few. Luckily we were near a Marina. Usually we are in the middle of buildings, and in the city there are a lot of telephone/power lines
