Boardwalk
Down by the Sea
On a blanket with my baby is where I'll be
(Under the boardwalk) out of the sun
(Under the boardwalk) we'll be havin' some fun
(Under the boardwalk) people walking above
(Under the boardwalk) we'll be *making love*
Under the board-walk, board-walk!
Oooooh, under the boardwalk, down by the sea, yeah
On a blanket with my baby is where I'll be
(Under the boardwalk) out of the sun
(Under the boardwalk) we'll be havin' some fun
(Under the boardwalk) people walking above
(Under the boardwalk) we'll be falling in love
Under the board-walk, board-walk!
It was a beautiful day for a ride to White Rock and the Pier. White Rock is a seaside community about 40 kms south of Vancouver via hwy 99. For those not familiar with this area, here is a map of where we went
View Sunday apr 22 in a larger map
and here is a view of the main street which is filled with restaurants

Very nice.

Deletethank you. When I was busy snapping photos I didn't know how I was going to present it, but then on the radio I heard this song and this was the result.
Wonderful! I love the way you carried us through the song as we toured the seaside boardwalk!

DeleteYou're giving away your age . . . only us oldsters can humm along to the words/tunes
Great post Bob. You had me singing as I was reading.
ReplyDeleteThe first pic was my favorite.
Trobairitz:
DeleteI want to hear you sing. I actually sang on one of my videos not long ago. Get that GoProHD working and you can vocalize the audio track. Thank you in advance
Very cool idea, and some really nice photos' as well.

Deletethank you. I got this brainstorm when I was looking at my photos and then the song played on the radio. It was just perfect. You are so lucky to be able to ride all year. We are not so fortunate.
The tune was rockin' in my head as soon as I started to read (but isn't it a bit dangerous to be playin' with the baby on the train track-yikes!)
ReplyDeleteVS Lady:
DeleteI love the late 50's and early 60's music. It reminds us of a better time when things were the best they could be. Those are active rail tracks and trains travel on them daily. There have been lots of accidents so the trains blow their whistles and slow down a bit
Oh yeah. I was grooving to the beat. Just like watching MoTown and Smokey Robinson right now.
ReplyDeleteI still cringed with the lady laying in the tracks. I could see they are active tracks...argh...scary.
Steel CupCake:
Deletethat's my kind of music too. Mo-town and also the British Invasion, Oh . . . and the girl groups. That Lady was very artistic to think of different perspectives. Perhaps that was her new camera ?
How do I get this song unstuck now. Lovely pictures as usual. I can't get enough from this place.

Deleteluckily you got rescued and a meal too. It was such a nice day we had to go to White Rock. Because it is hard to find parking during times of good weather we just pass through, but today we snagged a spot "on the hill" nearly opposite Charlie-don't-surf.
It's been a long time since I was on that boardwalk in White Rock. Good memories. Thanks.

Deleteperhaps it's time for a Wet Coast vacation. Not too busy yet, but as soon as it gets a bit warmer it gets very crowded. Hard to relax when the meter is ticking, and Parking Enforement is very persistant.
Wonderful photo series. Love it! I really like the texture, look and feel in the first two. Very appealing. I also really like the 3rd with the photographer on the RR track with baby. That she's wearing a zebra? stripe dress adds a delightful surprise to the image.
ReplyDeletelol - and now I have that song stuck in my head!
BlueKat:
DeleteRecently I dug out my dusty dSLR and looking through the viewfinder makes you feel more like a photographer. I had no idea at the time that I would be doing that sequence. I was just snapping away (In photo lingo = taking some images) and I look at them when I get home to decide how to assemble them into a post. Then on the way home I heard that song . . .
I didn't believe my eyes when I saw that lady lying on the tracks, but when I noticed the camera I knew she was shooting "out of the box" and it was a great idea, and an unusual angle so I snapped a few of her.
