My plan was to leave early Thursday but I left later than I wanted. Mrs Skoot decided to make me a quick fried egg sandwich to speed me on my way
I do not normally take freeways but today my plan was to take I-5, I-405, I-90, I-82 and I-84. I only stopped twice for fuel, and only because my low fuel warning light came on. I thought I could make it to Ellensburg but paniced and stopped 8 miles short at the first gas station, only to find that I still had one gallon in reserve
I left in cool temperatures, by the time I got to Thorpe I was boiling in 80 degree heat and had to convert my JR jacket to full mesh.
I quickly left and continued my treck south and stopped for a quick snack in Yakima at the local food truck for some delicious homemade tacos and mexican soda
I had two tacos for $1.75 ea plus $1.25 for the soft drink
Karen: without her Vstar
I finally made it to Baker City by around 4:30 pm, so I was on the road for just over 10 hours, and this included a power supply failure/repair for my GPS.
that's it for day one, a travelling day to get to Baker City. Not many photos unless you like to see highway shots. I rode half an iron butt at just over 500 miles
