I can't begin to tell you how out of shape I have become but a lot of walking is involved if you wish to see some of the local sights
Vstar* Lady = VSL: " do you want to see my lake ? "
Me: " of course "
Little did I realize at that time that it meant walking. I thought we were going to ride there
VSL: " well, you had better get on your walking shoes "
Me: ( gulp ), "okay"
It's hard to huff and puff, walk and talk at the same time and the 1-1/2 kms felt like an eternity
All I was thinking of was how I was going to get back
On the way back I managed to snap a few flower photos
any excuse to stop for a few seconds to catch my breath
the sky was beginning to become overcast
and the dark clouds were closing in
It was certainly nice of VStar Lady to take you out on a field trip to the lake, you should sleep well tonight after such an exhausting hike.

Deletebetween David and Karen, I think they are trying to kill me with exercise. You don't realize how many miles we walked in Montreal.
don't they know that's why I bought a machine with a throttle
Bob, you'll see in the post I just put up that I gave you credit for all the walking on Saturday, and apologized for the workout. I'm glad Karen took a turn too. If you stuck with us we'd have you in tip-top shape in no time.
DeleteNice photos of the lake. A different perspective than the snow and ice versions from earlier this year. And nice flower photos as well, even if they were taken only as an excuse to catch your breath. All of the cross posts have been a wonderful way for others to follow your adventure. You didn't jump into the lake to cool off after the long trek?
ReplyDeleteRichard:
DeleteIt's amazing that when I first saw the lake and the fence, I recognized it from previous photos, except no snow or ice today
there is a marshy area close to the shoreline, with a muddy bottom
A little walk never hurt anybody. :) You needed to get out and stretch those legs anyway, after being all cooped up on the bike.
ReplyDeleteLori:
DeleteI used to walk a lot, in my younger years. I'm afraid my lung capacity is not what it used to be
Crocs = Walking shoes??
ReplyDeleteHope your recovery after the walk goes well :)
Coop:
DeleteI was shoe challenged on this trip. Only brought crocs and walking sandals, unable to walk any distance in my riding boots
Good for Karen for getting you out for some exercise. And you survived too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flower photos. That is the secret to long walks, stop a lot for photos.
Trobairitz:
DeleteI wasn't sure I could make it back. You know "who" walks very fast and she also mentioned that this was the slowest she had ever walked up that hill. I thought we were walking very fast. she could walk circles around me, anytime
"that hill"? I thought that hells weren't permitted in "Karen;s World"?
DeleteMaybe you need to start getting out on that pedal bike more often ;-) Next year, bicycle tour across Canada....
Richard:
DeleteIf she had a pedal bike guess who would be using it ?
Place looks beautiful. Awesome photos as always!

Deletethank you for your compliment and thanks for visiting
Geez Bob ... I didn't know you wanted a pedal bike, I could have supplied one (high tech, adjustable front shocks, ergonomic gel seat ...) but believe me, it's a heck of a lot easier walking up the hill than pedaling. You did fine, all told three km walk.
ReplyDeleteKaren:
DeleteThree kms was a piece of cake as compared to David's miles of underground tunnels. I think if I stayed longer I would be able to keep up with you but at least I got to see your lake
Lovely spot. My kind of place.
ReplyDeleteLovely stroll! So are you getting saddle weary yet?
ReplyDeleteA three kilometer walk? At least tell me, that was one way... ;-)
ReplyDeleteMy mother-in-law walks this every day for exercise after her hip surgery, and she is 83...
She doesn't walk in crocs, though.
